Legendary Route 66

Packed with more than 600 photographs of the Mother Road’s most famous sights, outrageous roadside oddities. Classic neon signs, and memorabilia, Legendary Route 66 offers up a heaping plate full of nostalgia from the heyday of America’s Main Street.

With Route 66 historians Michal Witzel and Gyvel Witzel-Young serving as tour guides, the journey from east to west introduces you to some of the people who lived through Route 66’s glory days- the actress who played Ruthie Joad in The Grapes of Wrath film, a 1950’s carhop, a long-time owner of a Native American trading post. And those who stayed in business long enough to see the road’s resurgence. Also highlighted is the story of the highway’s creation, popularity, and eventual demise.
